Take Me Out to the Ballgame Tailgate Party Take Me Out to the Ballgame Tailgate Party

BYU Young Alumni*, family and friends are invited Saturday, May 10, at 11:30 a.m. to the Take Me Out to the Ballgame tailgate party.

J. DawgsThe fun begins at the southeast corner of LaVell Edwards Stadium with a hotdog barbecue by J. Dawgs. Join Cosmo and Cougar baseball players for games and giveaways before heading to Larry H. Miller Field to watch the Cougars take on the San Diego State Aztecs.

Registration is $5 online. Kids 5 and younger receive free admittance to the game and are charged $2 for a food ticket. The deadline to register is May 8. Tickets will not be mailed out; there will be a guest list at the event.

* The BYU Young Alumni program includes BYU graduates of 10 years or fewer.

What is the Young Alumni?

The Young Alumni program includes BYU graduates of 10 years or fewer. This program provides a network for young alumni to connect to each other, to other alumni, and to job resources. Activities and programs have included Young Alumni sports teams, "Show Me the Money" financial planning seminars, service opportunities and the BYU Grad Guide publication.

BYU Young Alumni BoardWho is considered a young alumnus/alumna?

Anyone who has earned at least 30 credits at BYU within the last 10 years is considered a young alumnus/alumna.

What are the specific missions of the BYU Alumni Association?

  • Engage students in lasting relationships with BYU by partnering administration, faculty, student organizations, and other university departments to cultivate lifelong, two-way relationships with current students and BYU.

  • Connect alumni to BYU and to each other (throughout the world) by providing valuable products, services, support and university contact to alumni and friends in an effort to strengthen the BYU community.

  • Help BYU accomplish its objectives by mobilizing alumni and friends in meaningful involvement (financial and otherwise) with BYU.

What are the specific missions of the Young Alumni organization?

  • Fulfill the mission of the BYU Alumni Association.

  • Raise a representative voice for young alumni within the BYU community.

  • Advise the BYU Alumni Association of interests/needs of young alumni.

How is the Young Alumni board structured?

To fulfill its mission, the Board must be representative of the young alumni it serves, reflecting the diversity of BYU constituencies with a variety of degrees and a range of ages. Board members are drawn from the ranks of active young alumni in Utah County and neighboring counties.

Board members not only represent the diversity of young alumni, but also convene focused committees to bring that representation to bear on activities, initiatives, and policies that assist the Alumni Relations department and BYU in meeting their overall objectives.
